Our Financial Services Business Risk Services practice focuses on helping organisation manage risk, improve operational processes, and realise strategic objectives. Our Service Auditor Reporting (SAR) team supports clients in their SAR journey from readiness assessment to type 1 and type 2 reviews covering a range of standards including ISAE 3402, SOC 1 SOC 2 and AAF 01/20. Our team brings together a range of skills and experience to bring clients a tailored, flexible and cost-effective solution, that provides access to industry best practice methodology, value add insights and subject matter experts.

A look into the role
As a SOC Reporting Manager within our Financial Services Business Risk Services (FS BRS) team you will:
Work as part of the team, effectively providing a hands-on service that exceeds our clients’ expectations and allows Grant Thornton to deliver high-quality audits to clients.
Be responsible for the effective completion of engagements, including:
Assisting with the preparation of draft planning memoranda/ planning documents
Providing input into budgets and scheduling
Holding planning and regular status meetings with clients, keeping clients informed throughout the engagement, and maintaining a no surprises approach
Delivering fieldwork, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with GT methodologies, that testing is sufficient and appropriate, and evidence to support key decisions has been obtained
Reviewing fieldwork of audit team members and providing oversight of engagements, assisting directors with their client portfolios where necessary
Supporting the team in the delivery of engagements in line with SOC 1, SOC 2, ISAE 3402, ISAE 3000 and AAF 01/20 standards
Managing an engagement team and ensuring work is delivered on time in line with an agreed budget
Holding close-out meetings with clients to ensure that the client has a full understanding of issues identified and these are agreed
Drafting and reviewing draft and final SAR reports, ensuring the written work is of a high standard, is factually correct, recommendations are appropriate and tailored to the needs of the intended audience, and requires minimal Director and Partner input.
Monitoring engagements and flagging any issues up to the Director in a timely manner.
Be a people manager for one or more members of the team to support their development and provide feedback, mentoring and coaching
Involvement in business development including preparation of proposals, participating in pitch presentations, contributing to thought leadership and collateral, and identify and develop new business opportunities with clients.

Joining us as a SOC Reporting Manager within our Financial Services Business Risk Services (FS BRS) team, the minimum criteria you’ll need is extensive experience delivering controls assurance, and to be confident managing a portfolio of SAR clients.
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
A professional qualification (ACA, CISA, CISM, CISP, or similar)
Experience within Financial Services
Experience of preparation and delivery of presentations.
Experience of managing and developing team members.
