The role of an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager within the Commercial Audit business is critical to the experience our Associates have as they embark on their Audit careers and is key to retaining our great people. Through your everyday interactions with our Associates you will play a pivotal role in inspiring our people to be their best and creating an inclusive culture. You will work closely with the Associate Career Coaches and other key internal stakeholders such as Office Training Contacts, Early Careers and Graduate Recruitment.

A look into the role

 

As an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager within our Commercial Audit team, you will:

Be responsible for providing both support and challenge to Associates to enable them to be their best. This includes;

  • having regular conversations with Associates to understand workload, pressures, wellbeing and feedback

  • proactively managing issues that arise including exam fails, under performance, absence and wellbeing concerns and escalating issues where appropriate

  • leading the local orientation for Associates, providing a first-class introduction to our firm

  • working in close partnership with Associate Career Coaches

  • valuing diversity through everyday inclusion

 

You will work collaboratively with a variety of internal teams including Central Talent and Capacity Team (CTCT), Early Careers, People Advisory, Business School and Audit Training Leads. You’ll also be an active member of both the local management team and people manager community

Given the importance of this role, there will be opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge and develop their skillset including commercial awareness and contributing to people projects.

 

This is a new role made available as part of ongoing investment in the People Manager model so it is a great opportunity to add value from the start.

Joining us as an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is

  • Experience of mentoring and coaching others

  • Experience of supporting and challenging others to help them reach their full potential 

  • You’ll be confident in using Microsoft packages

  • You’ll be passionate about creating the best possible experience for our Associates, Apprentices & Trainees

 

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • You’ll have experience in supporting office or firm wide projects or initiatives 

  • Experience of wellbeing and support 

  • Knowledge of accountancy profession training pathways 

  • Stakeholder management and project management skills

  • You’ll have experience of collaborating with a range of teams
