Approaching personal matters and corporate advice separately can lead to missed opportunities. We deal with both to bridge the gap and ensure our client’s needs are met, now and for the long-term. A look into the role


As an Associate Director within our Private Tax team you will:

  • Provide expert tax advice to business owners, shareholders and High Net Worth individuals.
  • Advise shareholders and their businesses on the tax implications of disposals, acquisitions, successions and corporate re-structuring.
  • Work alongside our corporate finance team to deliver an integrated sell-side deal and tax advisory service.
  • Develop strong client relationships by communicating clearly and engender trust by producing high quality tax advice that is commercial, bespoke and simplified in its delivery.
  • Provide intelligent solutions to client tax issues both reactively and proactively, engaging the Private and wider Tax teams and other services to ensure our clients benefit from the expertise of Grant Thornton.
  • Take responsibility for developing managers and more junior team members, understanding their carer aspiration and supporting them in realising their aims.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an Associate Director in Private Tax the minimum criteria you’ll need are:

  • a professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • to be confident managing complex advisory projects
  • to be confident advising business owners, shareholders, families and individuals on complex tax matters

It would be great if you also had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Experience advising on complex sell-side transactions
  • Experience advising on corporate reorganisations
  • Buy-side tax experience would also be welcome where you have the appetite to apply your skills in a different environment
