FINANCIAL REPORTING SENIOR MANAGER, Any UK office location

The National Assurance Services (“NAS”) team is the firm's centre of technical excellence for assurance and financial reporting. Drawing on our strong relationships with regulators, standard setters and the people in our firm, we provide innovative, practical and robust solutions to auditing and financial reporting matters that support audit engagement teams with the delivery of high-quality audits.

A look into the role

The NAS team assist the audit practice with accounting and corporate reporting related consultations, and compliance reviews of annual reports and accounts (ARAs) prior to signing the audit report. Team members will also provide local office support to the audit practice.

The Senior Manager will primarily be responsible for second review of technical accounting queries and hot reviews prepared by first reviewers. They may also be required to be on the Helpdesk. The SM will also be responsible for leading activities relating to subject matter specialism and other departmental ‘nonreactive’ activities.
The SM will be able to fulfil their reactive work responsibilities to a high quality, in a cost and time efficient manner with limited risk to the practice, without supervision. You will oversee junior members to ensure they understand complex
accounting principles and how to manage risk associated with different consultations.
The SM will also be responsible for various other departmental operational responsibilities.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Financial Reporting Senior Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA) with previous experience of working in a similar role within an accountancy practice.

You will need a strong understanding of accounting frameworks (UK adopted IFRS and UK GAAP), statutory and other regulatory requirements.

You will need to adapt your style to best interact with audit engagement teams from different backgrounds and levels of experience.
