A look into the role


As a Performance and Talent Manager, you will be part of the UK firm and will:

  • Develop a strong network across the firm, which you will leverage to manage our agenda for talent and performance.  You will primarily work with our People Advisors, Strategic Business Partners, Business School and People Leads

  • Manage our approach to performance at all stages of the cycle, so our people have great conversations about performance; including engaging employees, setting stretching goals, coaching, and giving and receiving feedback

  • Lead the process to identify and advance talent

  • Host programmes, based on 70:20:10 principles, that aid retention, accelerate careers and remove barriers so diverse talent finds opportunity in Grant Thornton

  • Provide meaningful analysis, insight and information to a range of stakeholders about performance and the health of our talent pipeline

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Performance and Talent Manager, the minimum criteria you will need is a working knowledge of talent and performance, gained from experience in Human Resources or a people-consultancy business. Having a CIPD qualification is beneficial but not required.  It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Working collaboratively across highly matrixed organisations

  • Build relationships at all levels

  • The ability to juggle competing priorities and a diverse portfolio of work

  • Think creatively about how to implement good practice for performance and talent, based on robust knowledge of the market

  • Develop others to be successful in their roles

  • Show integrity in all you do, doing the right even when it’s not easy
